In Procreate, you can unstack your canvas and move any design to a different layer. There are several options that allow you to do this. To unstack your canvas, first, hold the “Stack” button in the top right corner of the canvas. Then, click “Unstack” again to make it move to the bottom of the stack.
Move a design out of a stack
Procreate has a feature that lets you move a design out of a stack. To do this, hold down your finger on the design you want to move. This will make the design move to the left side of the canvas. To move more than one design, you will need to coordinate your fingers.
Once you have selected the design you want to move, tap the “Select” icon. You can also use gesture selection to select a design from a stack. After selecting a design, you can move it to the gallery view. Once you’ve done this, simply tap the “Select” icon at the top of the screen.
If you’ve selected a design and don’t want it to be visible, you can move it out of the stack using the drag and drop feature. Once you’ve done this, you can open the design in the Gallery and drag it to another place. If you’re working in Procreate for the first time, you may want to use the “Stack” icon to move a design from the stack.
Rename a stack
Procreate lets you rename your stacks and files. As you’ve stacked your artwork, you can change the name of the stack by tapping on the title. In the UI, this will show you the keyboard, and you can type the new name. This step is important for keeping track of your art and keeping it organized.
Stacks in Procreate are simply collections of artworks that are organized together. You can hold multiple files at one time in a gallery, or deposit them into any stack of your choice. You can also create a new stack. The process is simple and straightforward once you know what to do.
Undo a mistake
Procreate allows you to undo a mistake, but there are some limitations. For example, the “undo” button is persistent and takes up precious screen real estate. Fortunately, there are non-obvious ways to undo and redo mistakes with Procreate. If you are using an Apple Pencil, you should make sure that you hold the device correctly.
Undoing a stroke can be extremely frustrating, especially if you were in the middle of drawing. Luckily, it is possible to redo a stroke if you catch it in time. Undoing a stroke in Procreate involves one of two methods, and each method works only if the mistake doesn’t involve making a new stroke.
Move artwork out of a stack
Procreate allows you to move artwork out of a stack with a simple gesture. First, you can hold down the thumbnail you’re working on and drag it away from its original position. When the thumbnail is in the desired position, tap on it again to select it. Alternatively, you can tap on the stack name to move it out of the stack.
You can also move artwork out of a stack by holding down your finger while clicking on it. This will create a folder inside the app’s UI, allowing you to rename the artwork and move it to another stack.
Create a new stack
When you want to create a new stack in Procreate, tap the new stack icon and select the icons you want to include. A new window will open, where you can name your new stack. Stacks are named Stack by default, but you can change it to whatever you want.
After you have created a new stack, you can move your pieces around. To unstack the pieces, hold your finger down and drag them out of the stack. Alternatively, you can drag them to another location. Just make sure to hold your finger firmly on the tablet surface to avoid the images jumping.
You can also view your stack in the gallery. The process to access the gallery may take a second, so you need to practice to make it work for you. If you like what you see, you can also drag the stack back into the top level.
